DESCRIPTION:
Well 46W175 is the only real-time well in Clarke County. Water levels are recorded every 15 minutes and transmitted every hour via satellite to a computer located at the USGS Virginia Water Science Center in Richmond. This well is 80.4-feet deep with water entering the well between 66-68 feet. Water levels have been measured in this well since July 1987. Well 46W175 is located at the University of Virginia's Blandy Experimental Farm & The State Arboretum of Virginia. Visitors can view the current water level by pressing a display switch located on the well shelter.
